I was a regular player at Yako until they asked me to confirm my identity. Not a problem, until they asked me for payslips from my employer. I explained that this is not possible due to the fact that I am self employed. They instead asked me for a copy of my bank statement.
This too was a problem due to the fact that during my time with Yako, I changed my online bank supplier from Thinkmoney to Monzo, meaning that because the Thinkmoney account was closed by the time they required the statement, I could no longer access the account. I explained this to Yako but they were insistent on seeing a bank statement. How am I supposed to provide something I can no longer access. It simply can’t be done…….I asked Thinkmoney if it was possible and they said no.
When I first signed up to Yako, I immediately contacted them to ask if I could provide my documents up-front & before I even made my first deposit. They advised that they would get in touch when I was required to do so. This is a far from Ideal solution as should somebody find themselves in the same situation as me, then they’ll find that they can no longer play at this casino.
Long & short of it is that they should have allowed my to provide my documents from the start. They’ve lost a very loyal customer through their stubborness.
